Towards Human Potential and a Viable Civilization

I feel eager to write. Ecstatic, almost.

As a reminder to myself; this is a process, not a product.

Everyone is always talking about how the process is more important than the product. I always understood that theoretically. But now I’m beginning to know it, experientially. This is a process, and it’s supposed to be messy. It’s supposed to be incomplete.

And it takes vulnerability to put a process out into the world. That’s why this way of dialoguing with myself feels liberating — it adds another dimension, and makes space for me to express my innermost. Which in turn frees me from trying to put out a finely crafted theory of everything.

And, seriously, what does it take to get a point across? If I can share insights in conversation, then I’ll be able to share insights through writing, if I only let go of my need to have it all figured out.

Okay. So far we’ve learned:

  • Rivalrous games and exponential technology on a finite playing field self-destruct.
  • We have the power of gods. We need to become good stewards of that power, we need the love, consideration, and wisdom of gods.
  • Social darwinism, rivalrous games pretty much defined all civilization up to this point. Sometimes called GameA.
  • We’re in need of a completely new type of civilization. What some call GameB…
