Sovereignty is the Way
Towards Human Potential and a Viable Civilization
I feel eager to write. Ecstatic, almost.
As a reminder to myself; this is a process, not a product.
Everyone is always talking about how the process is more important than the product. I always understood that theoretically. But now I’m beginning to know it, experientially. This is a process, and it’s supposed to be messy. It’s supposed to be incomplete.
And it takes vulnerability to put a process out into the world. That’s why this way of dialoguing with myself feels liberating — it adds another dimension, and makes space for me to express my innermost. Which in turn frees me from trying to put out a finely crafted theory of everything.
And, seriously, what does it take to get a point across? If I can share insights in conversation, then I’ll be able to share insights through writing, if I only let go of my need to have it all figured out.
Okay. So far we’ve learned:
- Rivalrous games and exponential technology on a finite playing field self-destruct.
- We have the power of gods. We need to become good stewards of that power, we need the love, consideration, and wisdom of gods.
- Social darwinism, rivalrous games pretty much defined all civilization up to this point. Sometimes called GameA.
- We’re in need of a completely new type of civilization. What some call GameB. We can’t get rid of exponential technology, so we’re left with figuring out how to upgrade the basis of our choice-making, how to advance human wisdom and sovereignty.
- Because our power is unprecedented, this transformation, and the wisdom required for it is also unprecedented.
- This is to be held as the central work of our time.
- The concept of the self is silly. We’re interbeing and interbecoming, and there is no significant ‘success’ for the self that doesn’t contribute to the aliveness and the integrity of the whole.
What wants to be expressed now?
I want to draw your attention to a really key idea:
All civilizations that existed before our current one don’t exist anymore.
In other words: All previous civilizations have collapsed.
